Wedding Day Scents

The elements of your wedding should heighten everyone’s senses.

The sounds of giggling bridesmaids, heavy breathes to calm your nerves, the words “I do” out of your mouth. The feeling of your gown’s material, the tissue used to wipe your tears of joy and the petals of your bouquet. The way you look, the way the church isle and reception venue are decorated. The savory taste of the food, drinks and bubbly. The smell of the flowers, a cozy fire place and the smell of you.

YES, You!
You don’t want to smell like sweaty pits, I’m sure!

When I was working for The Nordstrom Wedding Suite* I was taught the elements of the bridal journey, and what every bride “needs” to purchase before her wedding day. While most of it beyond a gown, shoes and accessories weren’t an absolute necessity – one item has stuck with me.

A wedding day fragrance!!

At first, it sounds kind of weird – I know.
But think about it… it’s actually genius.

Pick and purchase (maybe even splurge) on a perfume that will be your “wedding day scent.” Wear it on your wedding (and maybe even the bridal “to-dos” and celebrations leading up to your wedding; i.e. bridal shower, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner.)

They key is to not allow the perfume to become a daily-must-wear.

When you wear it post-wedding on special occasions or get togethers, I guarantee it heightens your senses and reminds you of your wedding day. I also have a good feeling that you’re groom will remember the scent, too.

I’m sure I’m not the only one that a smell reminds you of something – this is no different.

For instance, when I was younger I traveled to Boston numerous summers in a row to visit a 2nd cousin. To this day every time I smell Victoria Secret Heavenly (her favorite perfume), I cannot help to think of her and my memories from those summers.

Will you have a wedding day fragrance?
You can bet your bottom dollar this girl will!
